Why it is important to train ASHA workers about Breast and Cervical Cancer

ASHA and Community Health Worker is the first link of women’s health. According to statistics, the number of breasts and cervical cancer cases is increasing in India both in urban and rural areas. If breast cancer is detected on time, then the chances of its successful treatment are much higher, but this is possible only when there is awareness among women about breast and cervical cancer. ASHA and community health workers can educate women about breast and cervical cancer. In such a situation, it is our duty to spread information about breast and cervical cancer to ASHA and other health workers and make them aware of breast self-examination, mammogram, pap smears, HPV vaccination.

In this training, a special curriculum has been created by Can Protect Foundation, which includes breast and cervical cancer as well as women’s health. This course is specially designed in the form of a presentation which is very easy to explain and takes only 1 hour.
