Dr. Sumita Prabhakar, Founder President of Can Protect Foundation, was a key speaker at a panel discussion on Breast Cancer Awareness organized by the Forum of Breast Cancer Protection. The event took place today at Hotel Madhuban, Dehradun, as part of the Purple Women Car Rally 2024.
During the discussion, Dr. Prabhakar shared her expertise on Breast Cancer Screening and emphasized the need for accessible screening methods, especially in the remote regions of Uttarakhand. While highlighting the importance of mammograms, she stressed that alternative screening methods must also be promoted to ensure that women in underserved areas receive timely care. One such method, which she strongly advocated, is Breast Self-Examination (BSE)—a simple, cost-effective tool that women can use to detect early signs of breast cancer.
The event was a crucial platform for raising awareness about breast cancer and the significance of early detection. Can Protect Foundation extends special thanks to Dr. Bhawana Awasthi for initiating this important program aimed at spreading awareness about breast cancer across the region.
