Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Can Protect Foundation Organises Free Breast Health Screening in Dehradun

Sometimes, all it takes is a little encouragement to make us take care of our health. We are grateful to the wonderful women of Dehradun who came forward for breast health screening at our recent camp. It was encouraging to see 14 women take that important step towards looking after themselves. At Can Protect Foundation, we believe that women should not have to wait for a health problem before they start thinking about their health. Taking care of ourselves should be a regular part of life.

At the camp, women were screened using the US FDA-approved iBreastExam device. The test is painless and comfortable, making the screening experience easier for women who may otherwise hesitate to come forward.

Why Should Every Woman Take Breast Health Seriously?

Many women spend years looking after their families but often put their own health last. A busy schedule, family responsibilities, fear or simply the belief that everything is fine can make them postpone important health check-ups.

But breast cancer does not always show symptoms in its early stages. This is why awareness, appropriate screening and timely medical advice matter.

Every woman should know about breast health, recognise unusual changes and speak to her doctor about the screening recommended for her age and medical history.

Free Breast Cancer Screening in Dehradun Every Thursday in October

As part of our Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative, Can Protect Foundation is offering free breast health screening every Thursday in October.

We request women to book their appointments in advance. And please don’t come alone if you can help it. Bring your mother, sister, daughter, friend or colleague along.

Our message this Breast Cancer Awareness Month is very simple.

Take care of your health. Encourage the women around you to do the same. Talk to your mother about her health check-up. Remind your sister not to postpone hers. Ask your friends if they are taking care of themselves.

At Can Protect Foundation, we want breast cancer awareness to go beyond posters, messages and conversations. We want women to come forward, ask questions and make their health a priority.

Because looking after yourself is not selfish. Your health matters to you, your family and everyone who loves you.
