Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a vital time each year when Can Protect Foundation actively promotes care, prevention, and early detection. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025, our team, led by Dr Sumita Prabhakar, reached out to the Dehradun community with free screenings and impactful breast cancer awareness initiatives.
Throughout October 2025, Can Protect Foundation, led by Dr Sumita Prabhakar, organized free breast cancer screening camps every morning at CMI Hospital and every evening at MS Galaxy Multispeciality Hospital in Dehradun. A total of 71 women availed this free service, taking an essential step toward protecting their health and learning about early signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

One of the key highlights of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025 was a powerful collaborative program organized by Can Protect Foundation and Amar Ujala Foundation on 30th October 2025 at the Doon Medical College Auditorium, Dehradun.
The event brought together some of Uttarakhand’s leading doctors, students, teachers, and social organizations to promote breast cancer education. Honourable Cabinet Minister of Uttarakhand, Smt Rekha Arya, graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of regular screening and reminding everyone that breast and cervical cancer are curable if detected early.
The awareness session featured an engaging panel discussion where medical experts addressed common myths and discussed breast cancer symptoms, self-examination techniques, and the importance of early medical consultation.
During the program, free breast screenings were conducted by Can Protect Foundation. Four women were identified with abnormal symptoms and were guided for further medical evaluation and support.
Can Protect Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to Amar Ujala Foundation for their partnership and to all volunteers, doctors, and supporters whose dedication made the month’s initiatives successful.
As an active breast cancer NGO in Dehradun, Can Protect Foundation remains committed to empowering women through early detection, awareness, and access to care. Together, we continue to protect, empower, and save lives—one woman at a time.
