On Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action, observed on November 17, 2024, the Can Protect Foundation, a leading breast cancer NGO in India, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association), 44 Infantry Brigade, organized a Free Women’s Cancer Screening Camp at MS Galaxy Multispeciality Hospital, Kargi Chowk, Dehradun. The camp was led by Dr. Sumita Prabhakar, Gynecologist and IVF expert at CMI Hospital and President of Can Protect Foundation, dedicated to breast cancer awareness and cervical cancer prevention in India.
During the free cancer screening camp, 30 women received cervical cancer screening, Pap smears, breast screenings using the FDA-approved iBreast Exam, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, and bone mineral density (BMD) assessments. These screenings play a vital role in the early detection of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and other women’s health issues.
