Free breast screening and cancer awareness camp organized, Health Talk by Dr Sumita Prabhakar, 63 women screened

Can Protect Foundation in association with Wonder Women’s Club organized a Free breast screening and cancer awareness camp on 25th October in Dehradun, whereby an exclusive screening and awareness session on breast and cervical cancer for all wonder women’s club members was held. 63 women were screened for Breast Diseases. This was part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, which is observed in October every year.

The session featured the health talk by Dr. Sumita Prabhakar. Dr. Prabhakar talked about breast cancer awareness, the importance of regular checkup, the importance of early detection through breast self-examination in order to overcome the disease at an early stage, where chances of survival are relatively high, 95% survival in 1st stage and 15% in 4th. The health talk also included women health along with the midlife management. Dr. Sumita Prabhakar explained the self-examination procedure and also answered questions from the audience. The session was appreciated by all club members.

We are thankful to the office bearers of Wonder Women’s Club Mrs. Manjeet Sharma, Mrs. Shakti Manocha, Mrs. Madhubala Sachan for taking the initiative to aware and screened its members. We truly appreciate the efforts by Dr. Rekha Khanna our ASHA KI KIRAN and secretary of Wonder women’s club for encouraging wonder women to initiate this camp.
By organizing such organized screening and awareness sessions, we ensure that women remain updated and aware of pertinent health issues and measures to counter possible risks.
